In addition to these basic benefits, our Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology makes it possible to search for text on scanned documents. This increases the speed and accuracy of finding exactly what you need and when you need it!

Safely & Securely Shred Old Documents
Once you’ve decided to digitize your documents, it’s time to free up space in your office. Don’t toss those files in any dumpster, though! Your patient files and company records all contain extremely sensitive information that should never fall into the wrong hands.
The best way to prevent that from happening is to ensure that old documents are safely and securely shredded. Fortunately, this is a service that Acro Photo Print Inc. can offer should you wish to destroy your paper records after digitizing and storing them. When you shred sensitive documents with us, you won’t have to worry about data breaches or identity theft.
How Long Do I Have to Keep Patient Records?
Under New York law, health care professionals of all kinds are required to retain patient records (paper or electronic) for at least six years from the date of last entry. If a patient is a minor, doctors and dentists must keep their records for at least six years from the last entry and for one year after they turn 21.
If a patient is deceased, medical professionals must retain their records for at least five years from their death date.
What If I Close or Sell My Practice?
If you close or sell your practice, your obligation to retain patient records doesn’t automatically end. You must inform your patients that you’re closing your practice and retain all patient records according to law. If you sell your practice, it’s a good idea to make an agreement with the new physician to ensure they will retain your patients’ records as needed.
